Covina High School Class of 1968

Lora (Skinner) Bennitt

How "groovy" it is to read about the 1968 graduates of Covina High. What memories! Hoping to accrue some interesting and exciting adventures in my life. I have waited until the last possible moment to write! I feel I have led a wonderful life, thus far, even though I haven't traveled the world or become a famous personality!

I've been married to Carl for almost 37 years and we have one son, Brian, who is 29. Brian has been a struggling actor in Hollywood and recently decided to return to school for an additional degree in Spanish and teach at the college level. I just recently became a grandma to two children ages 5 and 6 and I'm loving it!

In 1973, I earned a B.A. in vocal music. In 1990, I returned to school for a teaching credential and I began teaching elementary music about 15 years ago in Rowland Heights. I feel fortunate to have such a fun and fulfilling career.

As a hobby, I am a founding member of Inland Repertory Theatre, performing this year at the Candlelight Theatre in Claremont. This has given me the opportunity to perform in local musicals and plays for the last 20 years last year as Mame in "Mame". I also enjoy costuming some of the shows.

At the late age of 57 I finally completed my master's degree in education.

The reunion committee has done an incredible job. I look forward to great fun sharing stories and reminiscing at our reunion. Now I better go study my yearbook so I can remember everyone's names!
