Marcey (Pomerantz) DiCaroMarried for 25 years to Paul DiCaro. One son, Michael, age 20. We live in Tucson, AZ. After high school, I attended Mt. SAC and then transferred to Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California, where I got my BA in Psychology and Expressive Arts. I then organized a co-op market in Santa Rosa, California, and organized organic farmers to sell their products to co-ops and at a farmer's market. Met my husband Paul negotiating over the price of bell peppers, as he was part of a cooperative organic farm and I was distributing the produce. I then did work with autistic adolescents part time while I took classes in development, movement, and psychology and continued to farm organic produce. More In 1980, Paul and I began to travel around the country and settled in Tucson, Arizona. I studied Trager Psycho-Integrative Body Therapy and became a practitioner. We married in `82 and in `88 our son Michael came along. I began doing counseling work after Michael was born and also continued my studies in holistic approaches to mind, body, spirit health, and well being. I attended Prescott College and received an MA in Counseling Psychology in 1997. I have done work as a social worker in hospital settings and was the Outreach Clinical Director for Sunstone Cancer Support Centers, a non-profit organization offering supportive and complementary services. Five years ago, my husband, Paul returned to school and is now a teacher working with Social Studies and Special Ed. Our son Michael, has been living on his own for the past 7 months, working full time and contemplating what he might study when he decides to go to college. I am currently doing some part-time counseling and social work with a couple of agencies and have a private coaching, hypnosis practice. I am also studying Auyurvedic medicine, and facilitate workshops and retreats on mind-body-spirit healing. Paul and I also have a product-oriented business called Dear Heart LLC which offers high quality nutritional products at affordable prices. We live on one acre on the outskirts of Tucson with our 2 dogs, 3 cats and the varied birds and critters of the desert. Marcey April 2008 |
