Forty years – after reading some of the life stories on the reunion webpage, it makes it seem like it was just yesterday!

Here is my forty years. Two days after graduation, I left town to play professional baseball with the beloved Chicago Cubs. At the same time, as many of you did, I had to worry about the military draft. It was a real possibility that I would be tossing grenades and not baseballs, so I joined the US Army Reserves and continued my baseball career. I was so thrilled to receive news of our upcoming 40 years "Reunion." It's hard to believe that time has passed us so quickly and that we are all into our "Golden Years," although there are times that I still feel like a teenager. But my body and my photos are telling me something different and bring me back to reality. More

Glass Hearts began in 1986 in Juneau, Alaska where I began to sell one-of-a-kind antique glass jewelry designs to local art galleries and upscale contemporary craft stores throughout Alaska.

Enamored of antique glass beads, I studied glass bead-making sites throughout the world, the techniques used in making the beads and the historical color vogues. From this beginning and while still in Alaska, I studied glass blowing with a student of the famous United States glass lamp worker, John Burton, becoming part of the veritable lineage of lamp workers directly influenced by or trained by Mr. Burton.

Relocating in 1987 to Sacramento, California, I continued my jewelry work and began including glass pieces in my designs which I had made in my glass studio.

When I saw that all my friends are running this website I decided I better get in touch again.

I was devasted to hear about Jerry Kern. He and I worked for the same company back in my early 20's in Los Angeles before I transferred to Cleveland, Ohio. I actually lived in Ohio almost 7 years before transferring back to Los Angeles because I missed seeing my niece and nephew grow up. More

How awesome to hear from you. I am now living in Sacramento and I am going back to nursing school, my dream since I was little. I have been divorced for 20 years. Gad where does the time go. I have four grown children and 7 grandchildren. I lived in Klamath Falls for about a year and a half after becoming disabled. Retired life doesn't suit me so I am starting over career-wise. The acre and a half was too much for me to take care of on my own and shoveling snow was almost impossible.

Thanks for the contact. I can't believe we have been out of High School almost 40 years. Sometimes I still feel 16 years old.

Hi! Sorry, too, about not attending the reunion, but in fact we are going to be vacationing with Bob and Joanne Stange.

Let's see, we lead a pretty boring life, but it's been a good life. As I said, John just retired 3/30 after 35 years with the Los Angeles Fire Department. I've been a stay-at-home mom and loving it. Two kids, both grown. Son Robert lives in Hawaii and is a missionary with an organization called Surfing the Nations. Besides serving the Lord he gets to live and yes surf in Hawaii. Kristin lives in Hesperia and is a World History teacher at Hesperia High. Neither one married yet, so no grandbabies. Just grand animals: two cats and two dogs.

For fun we do a lot of camping and going to the beach. (Especially me and yes I still have a tan!) Now that John is retired we are going to Hawaii to see Robert the end of this month. Then in May we are going camping again. We plan to stay busy. We're in good health and God has been good to us. We love company and love to entertain so if anyone ever gets to good ol' Hesperia, we'd love to spend time together. Look us up.

Wow... sitting in the airport, surfing the web and landed on this site. Quite the eye opener to see how everyone turned out so well (I was certain 1/2 of the class would be in jail or on the lam!)

I've been working for the San Diego Zoo, Peace Corps, and The Nature Conservancy (not all at once!) since graduation from San Diego State with a BS in Zoology. I spent 6 years in South America doing cool things (some I can't talk about or I'd be in the 1/2 mentioned above). More
